Top Picks | November

Hi, friends!

I’m sorry for the delay in posting on here! It has been a really busy week and a half with the Thanksgiving holiday approaching! But, I’m back on the blog today to share my November Top Picks with you just in time for Black Friday shopping!

As always, all of these products are suggestions, and you should only try things that you feel comfortable trying. It’s all about figuring out what sorts of things work for you, and I hope that by reading my reviews, you can gather a little insight on the kind of products that you would enjoy using!

If you have any questions about any of the products, feel free to comment below or contact me via email!

Onward!

1.Clinique’s Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer

I’ve been using this particular foundation for about eight months now after switching from another liquid foundation. Now obviously I’m including it in my Top Picks because I love it, but I also think that it could be a great foundation for a variety of skin types.

In the past, I’ve had a lot of issues with liquid foundation. I’m all for a medium-to-full coverage liquid foundation that doesn’t require much concealer or finishing powder. It wasn’t until I found this particular foundation that I started using so much less powder and concealer to complete my look.

As I’ve mentioned before, I have pretty reactive skin, so I need a foundation that isn’t going to dry me out or make me oily. I’ve really loved the results that I’ve seen from this full coverage foundation so far! I don’t particularly use it as a concealer, because I think that I still need an additional concealer to mask blemishes and under eye circles, but I continue to love the look this foundation creates each time that I use it!

Also, if you purchase this foundation at Sephora on Black Friday, they have a ton of other sales going on throughout the store that you can read more about here.

2. The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Oil

I just purchased this tea tree oil about a month ago and I have already noticed the impact it has on any incoming blemishes that I have. My skin can’t handle the harsh chemicals and ingredients that a lot of other spot treatments contain, which is why I decided to give this one a whirl.

Tea tree oil does have the potential to dry your skin out, but if you instill a proper moisturization routine, in addition to using this product, then your skin should be good to go! I love so many things about this product — for one, you’re literally getting a spot treatment for under $15 dollars that will last for months if you use it sparingly.

I’ve also noticed that when I apply it to incoming blemishes, it makes them shrink and become less of an apparent bump on the surface of the skin. How cool is that!?

Also, if you purchase this product at The Body Shop this Black Friday, they’re offering 40% off selected items!

3. Batiste Dry Shampoo in Cherry

img_4303

This was my first time jumping on the dry shampoo train after years of hearing people rave about this particular brand. Batiste’s dry shampoo has literally changed my hair game for the better in so many ways. My hair is super thick, so I can go around three days without washing my hair, but the third day was always the hardest before I bought this product.

This dry shampoo makes it easier for me to get through that third day with hair that looks just as great as it did on the first day! I spray the dry shampoo onto my roots at night, and then wake up in the morning to style my hair. When I spray it on, I rub it in with my hands, and then follow up with a round brush and backcomb my hair back and forth until it’s all blended in.

Also, if you’re looking to purchase this dry shampoo at Ulta, they’re having SO MANY GREAT SALES on Black Friday, which you can check out here.

4. REVLON COLORSTAY Finishing Powder

I’m always searching for a finishing powder that keeps my T-zone from getting oily, and I think that I’ve found a pretty great option with this one from REVLON. A little goes such a long way with this powder, so it has lasted me quite a while.

In the past, I noticed that when I applied a finishing powder in the middle of the day, the rest of my makeup would look cakey or smeared. That’s absolutely not the case with this particular finishing powder. The powder is so thin, that it really does cover and touch up what needs to be touched up without making your face makeup look caked on.

5. It Cosmetics Superhero™ Mascara

I just started using this mascara a little less than a month ago, and I’ve liked the results that I’ve seen thus far. You guys will all probably think I’m a weirdo, but I never buy the same mascara twice. I’m all about trying the newest mascaras that are being advertised on the market, because I like to switch it up to get the best results.

I have long and thick eyelashes, so I’m really picky about the mascara that I use. This is the first time that I’ve used this mascara by It Cosmetics, and I am really impressed with the results! The brush separates all of my lashes so they don’t look clumped and it gives SO MUCH VOLUME! I just may have to break my streak of never buying the same mascara twice when I buy the full size version of this one!
