Happy June, and welcome back to stylishly good vibes! You know what time it is—another round of my monthly top picks. Let’s jump right in!
amika Bust Your Brass Shampoo + Conditioner
I don’t color my hair as often as I used to, but I still love keeping a purple shampoo in my routine to get rid of brassiness. I had been using the Matrix Brass Off collection, but once I ran out, I decided it was time for a change.
My hairstylist raves about amika, so I figured I’d give their Bust Your Brass line a try. Let me tell you: I immediately noticed a difference in both my hair color and how soft and smooth it felt.
How I Use It: I leave both the shampoo and conditioner on for about 5 minutes each to really tone and cool the brassiness. I typically use it once a week, or every third wash, depending on how my hair looks.
Free People Washed Ashore Cardi
After doing a spring closet clean-out, I realized I was missing a cardigan—something cozy I could layer at home or on the go. While I was making returns at Free People, I saw this cardi and couldn’t pass it up. I even told myself, “There’s no way I’m buying a sweater at the end of May,” and yet . . . here we are.
Asheville mornings and evenings can be chilly, so I’ve kept this cardi close by. For sizing: I usually wear a Small at Free People, but went with an X-Small in this one because the sleeves run long—just something to keep in mind!
NARS Soft Matte Complete Full Coverage Concealer Pot
For years, I’ve heard makeup artists rave about this concealer, but I never tried it because I was loyal to Pat McGrath’s Skin Fetish Concealer. That is, until my shade went out of stock and has stayed out of stock since November 2024.
I’m still rationing the last bit of my Pat McGrath concealer, but I’ve switched to the NARS Soft Matte concealer, and honestly, I may never go back. I use a concealer brush to dab a small amount over any dark spots, let it sit for about a minute, then apply my tinted sunscreen or moisturizer. It gives the perfect amount of coverage and wears beautifully throughout the day.
Makeup by Mario Ultra Suede Sculpting Lip Pencil
I love watching GRWM videos on TikTok, and when some of my favorite creators recommended this lip pencil, I had to try it. My lip routine is pretty simple: just a lip stain topped with Marin’s Lip Treatment, but something about this pencil made me want to become a lip pencil person.
I use the shade Johnny, and it’s honestly the perfect color match. I stain my lips first, wipe it off, then lightly line my lips with the pencil. For the record, I’m not over-lining! I just follow the natural shape and sometimes fill in a bit near the corners. The finish is soft, and it holds up well.
MOTHER Smarty Pants Straight Leg Jeans
I love jeans. They are my version of sweatpants. Seriously, I don’t even own a pair of sweats. I know, I know, but if you had these jeans, you’d understand. They’re the perfect light wash and lean more toward a fitted, structured denim than a stretchy one.
I’ve always struggled to find jeans that aren’t too short on me, and these are the first pair from MOTHER that work for my height without looking too cropped. They’re comfortable right off the bat, and I can already tell they’ll only get better with time.
Well, that’s all I have for this month’s top picks!
Until next time!
