Hello, friends! Welcome back to Stylishly Good Vibes!
I’m back on the blog today to share a new slip dress with you and how I’m styling it from day to night! This slip dress was gifted to me by Caite Kyla, which is one of my favorite companies I’ve had the pleasure of working with. The quality of their clothing is unparalleled, and each piece is handmade. How cool is that?!
This watercolor slip dress features all the colors I love to wear year-round, so I thought it would be fun to show you two different ways to style it. Now, obviously my going-out style is different than most people’s going-out style. My going-out style is basically my normal style because I don’t see the purpose of having “going-out only” clothes. That seems wasteful! So, I’ve styled two different outfits that you could wear during the day, at night, or any other time your heart fancies!

Let’s get started!
The Dress

Like I said before, this watercolor patterned dress is a dream. I lean more toward looser fitting clothes because that’s where my comfort is, so this style of dress is a must in my closet. What I especially love about it is the cut. It flows when I walk and when it’s windy, it gets some SERIOUS wind action! As summer rolls in, my wardrobe will consist of lots of dresses and skirts. This dress is so lightweight and silky on the skin, making it a must-have for hot, humid days!
Outfit No. 1: Daytime

For daytime wear, I paired the slip dress with my favorite cropped white sweater. I would argue that this style of sweater is a wardrobe necessity because you can wear it year-round. Since I didn’t want to take too much attention away from the dress, I chose this sweater because it’s pretty understated. You can’t tell from the photos, but it actually has dots all over it!

Throwing a sweater over a dress so it appears as a skirt isn’t groundbreaking, people. But it is such an easy way to style a slip dress for during the day. Plus—this is something that you could style rain or shine, hot or cold.
I’m going to take this moment to say something that may shock some of you: dresses are more comfortable than sweatpants. There! I said it! I would much rather lounge around in a soft, free-flowing dress like this than sweatpants any day. Okay, that’s all!
Outfit No. 2: Nighttime

For nighttime wear, I switched out my white sweater for one of my famous hats and a Caite Kyla button-up blouse in the most perfect jewel tone. This blouse paired beautifully with the slip dress, and I loved how it really made all of the colors POP. Instead of buttoning the blouse up, I left it open and tied at the bottom. Typically I would button up a blouse that I throw on over a dress, but I like it open in this case. Especially since I had a solid cover on top with the daytime outfit!

I know I say it all the time—kind of like a broken record—but if you’re bored with your wardrobe, the solution is to add staple pieces that you can style multiple ways. A slip dress is a great example of that. Whether you choose a solid dress or a patterned dress like mine, I promise you that styling it will be less of a chore and more of a rewarding challenge!

Well, that’s all I’ve got for you today! I hope that your week is FANTASTIC and that you have a great upcoming long weekend!
Until next time!
