Hi, friends! Welcome back to Stylishly Good Vibes!
I’m back on the blog today to talk about one of my favorite topics: hair! I thought it would be fun to share all of the products and techniques I currently use. Obviously, I’m not a professional hair stylist, but I love to listen and learn about the topic.
So, let’s get started!
Color

My hair color has gone through many phases over the years. From bright blonde brushlights to chocolate brown—I’ve tried it all. Since I switched hair stylists two years ago, I made the decision to go back to my natural color at the roots and only add color to the ends—kind of like ombre.
Letting my roots grow in natural has been SO helpful, especially for my budget! I’m still able to live my best blonde hair dreams, but I save money by not having to color as often. I go in for color quarterly. Typically when I go, I either add in some brushlights or lowlights depending on how I want the light to reflect off my hair. This time around, I went for some brushlights around the face.
I sometimes bring in an inspiration photo, but my hair stylist knows me so well and understands what I’m saying when I describe what I’m looking for. She gets it right every time! I trust her 100% with my hair, and that’s the kind of relationship I think everyone should have with their hair stylist.
Care

I want to preface this by saying that my hair is different than yours. What works for me may not work for you. My hope with telling you what I do is that you will start to experiment with different techniques to find what works for you!
In terms of care, let’s start with the basics. I only wash my hair twice a week—sometimes three depending on what’s going on during the week. Each time I wash, I sleep with my hair wet. I tie it up in a loose pony with a silk scrunchie. Every now and again, I blow-dry it if I shower during the day.
I only heat treat my hair once a week depending on when I’m taking photos for the blog. Usually Saturdays are the only day that I curl the front pieces of my hair. I very rarely curl my entire head.

Products
I keep it pretty simple when it comes to the products I use on my hair.
Shampoo + Conditioner
Nexxus Therappe Shampoo + SheaMoisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Conditioner
This shampoo and conditioner combo is all about targeting dehydration and dryness. Once a week, I use this set of products to lock in moisture.
Matrix Brass Off Shampoo + Conditioner
My natural hair color is more brunette than blonde, so this duo is a necessity. I use this once a week to take any of the brassy, orange tones out of my hair.
Treatments
I use this treatment once a month. I leave it on for up to an hour if I have time. It helps my hair with dryness, flyaways, and smoothness.
I just started using this a couple months ago and it has been a total game-changer when I blow-dry my hair! If you want silky, smooth hair, you have to give this product a try.
Good Medicine Beauty Lab Wild Child Hair Rehab Oil
This all-natural formula instantly hydrates and strengthens my hair. I use this oil when my hair is dry. Typically, I’ll apply it before I heat treat my hair or when I need to tame some flyaways.
I don’t know what I would do without my Wet Brush. My hair is really long and thick. When it gets knotty, it’s so hard to brush. But the Wet Brush makes my life a million times easier by getting the knots out in seconds.
Well, that’s all I have for you today! I hope that these techniques inspire you to find what works best for your hair!
Until next time!
Alicia
