Hi, friends! Welcome back to Stylishly Good Vibes!
Today’s post is all about how I style one of my favorite midi dresses during the winter! The dress featured in today’s post is the Made You Look Midi Dress from Free People. What I love most about it is that it can be easily styled from summer to winter, which is why I thought it was the perfect dress to share today!

This midi dress definitely has more of a bohemian vibe to it. I remember the first time I wore it; my friend told me that I looked like a very stylish pioneer woman. I laughed, but when I thought more about it, I agreed!
Regardless of whether or not this particular dress is “your style,” the purpose of this post is to provide you with some of my styling tips!

Let’s get started!
Choosing the Dress

I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ll talk about it again because it’s relevant to today’s post. When I’m buying new pieces for my wardrobe, I try my hardest to choose pieces I know I can style year-round—this dress being a perfect example.
The pastel mauve color of this dress is a go-to in my closet because I know that it coordinates well with my hair color and other items I typically wear. Plus, this color isn’t too summery or dark. It’s just right!
I originally bought this dress to wear on Black Friday when I worked as a manager at Anthropologie. I wanted something new and fun to wear for the day because it’s basically like our work prom. For that particular day, I styled this dress with a white long-sleeve turtleneck tee and a statement necklace.
For today’s post, I wanted to take it a step further and really play with layers.
Styling the Dress

I love a good color play when it comes to styling. When things match too much, it turns me off. But, if I’m able to grab one teeny tiny color from one piece and pull it out to be the focal point of another piece, then I feel accomplished!
One of my secret talents is that I have a photographic memory. I can look at a selection of clothes and know whether or not they’ll look good paired together. Weird, I know. For example, I didn’t even try this outfit on before taking photos because I knew it was going to be great!
I chose this quilted denim jacket because it has a bit of mauve in it and I had a feeling it would pair well with this dress. That’s the thing—don’t be turned off by pairing certain items together simply because it’s not a typical pairing. You may surprise yourself with how great it ends up looking!
The short-sleeved polka dot sweater underneath adds a bit of depth to the look. You know I hate anything plain!
I finished the look with my favorite gold and silver necklaces and my classic Panama hat. Done and done!
Well, that’s all I’ve got for you today! I hope you refer back to this post the next time you’re trying to style a midi dress in the winter!
Until next time!
