Top Picks for November

Top Picks | November 2020

Hi, all! Welcome back to Stylishly Good Vibes! I kind of fell off my “Top Picks” train this year, but I’m getting back onto it—with one month left of 2020 to spare! No better time to start than now I suppose!

Any who, I have lots of new products to share with you, so I’m excited to kick-start this series again! As always, I’ve chosen 5 products that I’ve been using over the past month. I’ll share why I love them, where you can purchase them, and more!

Let’s get started!

Laura Mercier Translucent Powder | $39 Full / $23 Mini

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder

Before buying this powder, I had heard people raving about it on social media and in my favorite fashion magazines. I usually don’t let myself get sucked into the hype surrounding a product, but I’m glad I did with this one!

I’ve used a lot of setting powders in my life and this one far surpasses the others I’ve tried. What I love most about the Laura Mercier powder is that although it keeps my skin matte throughout the day, it doesn’t take away that dewyness I get from my face oils. It helps me maintain an overall radiant glow without looking oily!

This powder is available in three different shades, but I use the translucent one since my skin is very fair. Whenever I take pictures for my blog, my face doesn’t flashback in the photo because this powder has a subtle blurring, soft-focus effect.

How I Use: I bake my eyes with this powder. Is baking still a thing LOL? I apply my under-eye concealer, then tap this on gently with a small makeup brush. Using a big foundation brush for this will pack too much product on your under-eyes, and you don’t want it to look cakey! I let it set for about a minute, then lightly dust off. As a final step, I apply to my t-zone, nose, and chin.

Where to Buy: Sephora, Nordstrom, Laura Mercier

BECCA Under Eye Brightening Corrector | $32

Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector

This product caught my eye while I was shopping for a new concealer, and I’m glad I decided to try it! I want to note that this is NOT a concealer. You don’t want to use a lot of it. This product is intended to brighten any darkness you may have under your eyes. It had mixed reviews on Sephora’s website, but I gave it a try anyway.

How to Use: Because of my fair skin, I naturally have some darkness under my eyes. No matter how much rest I get, it’s still there. Which brings me to this product. I simply dab a small amount on the line of my under-eye bag and in the corners of my eyes and that’s it. I can instantly see it brighten the area!

Next, I apply my concealer on top. Although I’m using two products instead of one, it doesn’t look overdone. The key is to use it sparingly! I use this color corrector in the Light to Medium shade.

Peter Thomas Roth Vital-E™ Microbiome Age Defense Eye Cream | $55

Peter Thomas Roth Vital-Eyes Microbiome Age Defense Eye Cream

I’m always on a quest for the best eye cream, and this one definitely takes the cake! I made some shitty sunscreen (or lack thereof) mistakes in my teens, so I do have some premature aging that’s starting to pop up under my eyes. With eye creams that I used in the past, I feel like they were either too heavy for daytime wear or just flat-out didn’t work.

I was really intrigued when I found this one from Peter Thomas Roth after scrolling through Sephora’s app. This eye cream uses Gamma E Antioxidant Technology to improve the appearance of dullness and fine lines while restoring loss of elasticity. Plus—this eye cream helps to fight the effects of blue light damage from staring at a screen all day, which is exactly what I do for work!

How to Use: I use this eye cream both morning and night. A little bit goes a long way, so I’ll take a pea-sized amount out of the pot and warm it up between my index fingers. Then I’ll pat under my eyes and let it dry completely before I do anything else. I really do think that it has helped with some of the fine lines I was starting to see.

The Inkey List Vitamin B, C, and E Moisturizer | $4.99

The INKEY List Vitamin B, C, and E Moisturizer

This moisturizer is the cheapest, most effective moisturizer I’ve ever used! I was introduced to The INKEY List by my friend Marissa and I’m so happy she told me about it. All of the price points for their products are really low, but each is made with high-quality ingredients that your skin will love.

Before I tried this moisturizer, I was using a serum-based hydrator for daytime, but I found that my skin was dry and flaky no matter what I did. I decided to give this moisturizer a try because it was so cheap,

I’m honestly shook by how much I like it and how amazing the formula is. It goes on like butter and makes the skin feel silky smooth! Some of the reviews I read mentioned that it made their skin feel sticky, but they must have been using too much product because I’ve never felt that!

How to Use: Like I said before, I only use this moisturizer during the day. It’s the second to last step of my routine—right before SPF. I apply a dime-sized amount to my face and pat it on rather than slathering. It keeps my skin hydrated all day long—bye, bye dry patches!

Truly Beauty Unicorn Lip Plumping Balm | $14

Truly Beauty Unicorn Lip Plumping Balm

Truly Beauty is one of those Instagram beauty brands that popped up on my feed as an ad and I was instantly hooked. Their products are so fun and totally my aesthetic. When my birthday rolled around last month, my friend surprised me with a bunch of their products and I was so excited to give the brand a try!

I’m obsessed with lip balm in general, so this lip plumping balm was the first one I tried from the Truly Beauty gifts I received. It contains peppermint oil, which encourages blood flow to the lips to make them appear more plump, and shea butter to deeply hydrate. I’ve used lip plumping lip glosses before, but this product isn’t sticky and actually makes a visible difference!

How to Use: I apply this morning and night. I warm it up between my fingers for a couple seconds, then apply. Sometimes I will wear it over lipstick for a little extra shine. Plus—a little goes a long way, so I bet this will last me for six months!

Well, that’s all I’ve got for you today! I’ll be back on the blog next week with another new post for you!

Until next time!
