Kimono Styling Tips | Featuring Caite

Welcome back to the blog, friends! I’m so excited to announce that I’m working with Caite again to showcase some pieces from their Spring 2019 collection. This brightly-colored kimono* is just one from the collection, which I decided to showcase today.

I love working with Caite because I can see the craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into every piece. They use original artwork to create intricate prints that you won’t see anywhere else. I always want to feel one of a kind, and Caite helps me do just that with their designs.

I feel like during the winter months, we forget that there is brightness in the midst of Cleveland gray. There’s no better time than now to wear bright colors, which is why I found it fitting to have this piece be the first one I shared with you guys.

In all honesty, I wore this exact same outfit the other day. But hey, the only people that saw me were my work friends, so it’s all good. I’ve noticed that I tend to outfit repeat more frequently when I find an outfit I love, which was the case with this one! Plus, when I first wore this outfit, I was having one of those days. You know, the days when you just don’t feel 100%. We all have them!

If you read last week’s post, you’ll know that I have an obsession with high-waisted jeans. Well, yeah, I’m wearing them again, so sorry not sorry if you hate them! Anyways, I love how the light wash of this denim plays with the coloring in the kimono. This simple white turtleneck tee is one of my most basic purchases, but I’m so glad I have it! I usually wear nothing plain, so this is new for me. I love how easy it makes layering, so 10/10 would recommend picking up one of your own since it comes in a bunch of colors.

On an unrelated note, this is my new favorite location for shoots, and it’s the first time I’ve been here since I moved home. I don’t even know how many years’ old this bridge is, but isn’t it sweet?! It’s actually right down the road from where I go for a 4th of July parade every year. I love traditions like that, so going there for photos was really special.

To conclude this blog post, I figured I would recommend some of my favorite things to pair with a kimono. People always ask me styling questions about kimonos, which means they are harder to style than I thought!

Let’s stick with this kimono for my examples. If you want to dress up this kimono, throw it on over a chambray dress or jean skirt paired with a graphic tee. Keep it casual like I did with any wash of jeans and a long-sleeved top. The sky is the limit with kimonos!

That’s all I have for ya today! I’m so excited to share more of the items that I received from Caite over the next few weeks. 🙂

Until next time!
