Helloooo and Happy Friday, friends! I’m back on the blog today to share a super fun post filled with products I love for my acne-prone skin. This is something I’m really passionate about, so I’m excited to share the products that I’ve been loving as of lately.
I’ve mentioned it before on the blog, but if you’re new here, I’ll give you some background. I’m obsessed with skincare because I’ve dealt with troubled skin for a decent chunk of my life. I love trying new acne products, which is why my routine changes pretty frequently. The ones that I’m featuring in today’s blog post are the first products in a while that I intend on keeping in my skincare routine.
Let’s get started!
Up & Up Cleansing Wipes
First things first, I use these wipes every single night after I wash my face. Salicylic acid is a great gentle exfoliator that helps to remove any dead skin cells that have built up on the surface of the skin. It’s also really gentle, but effective on acne. I can’t use products that contain Benzoyl Peroxide because my skin is way too sensitive, so I always go for salicylic acid products instead.
I love to buy the Target brand of these wipes because they’re more than a dollar cheaper than the name brand and they’re literally the same thing. I’ve noticed a significant improvement since I started using these wipes versus a spot treatment. I think spot treatments are effective for some people, but for my skin, these wipes work much better.
FOREO Play Plus
Next up is the FOREO Play Plus! There are a bunch of different models from this brand to choose from, but I chose the simple, battery-powered option because it’s great for travel. I still use my Clarisonic facial brush, but I start off using this one with my oil-based cleanser. This vibrating massager helps to remove any makeup from my skin, plus it promotes lymphatic drainage, which is great for anyone whose face is puffy in the morning or night. It’s little, but it sure is mighty when it comes to getting your face squeaky clean!
Sunday Riley Space Race Skincare Line
These two products have been absolute game-changers in my skincare routine. I just ordered the trial size “Space Race” package a couple weeks ago, and I’ve been so impressed with the products. MARTIAN is a toner that comes out as a green gel and turns to water once you start patting it on your face. It smells super fresh and clean, which I love. I follow up with U.F.O., which is a clarifying facial oil.
Now, I know what you may be thinking. Acne + Oil is a bad combo. Hear me out! This facial oil is not like other oils in that it actually leaves the skin matte, not glossy. It has a licorice smell, which some people don’t like, but I don’t mind it because the product works for my skin!
The Saem Urban Eco Waratah Essence Lotion
I use this as the third step in my skincare routine. Instead of using a water-based essence like I used to, I decided to switch it up by buying this one. I love that it’s a lotion because it’s really light and helps my skin feel hydrated and soft. I bought this in the Korean skincare section at CVS! It smells really fresh and it has helped my skin with inflammation and redness.
Coconut Sugar Mask Wash Off
This was a Korean skincare find at Ulta and I love it! It’s a gentle sugar scrub mask that I leave on for about 10-15 minutes. I use it once a week. The consistency is similar to honey and it’s really moisturizing as well.
If you suffer from acne, it’s important to have a gentle exfoliator in your skincare routine, but make sure not to over exfoliate. When you exfoliate, you remove the dead skin cells so that new cells can turnover and create a fresh, healthy complexion. Over-exfoliating can cause irritation, which isn’t a good combo when acne is also causing irritation.
Well, that’s all I have for ya today! If you have any other questions about the products that I mentioned in today’s blog post, let me know in the comments below.
Until next time!
