Starting A New Chapter

Hey, friends! I apologize once again for my absence from the blog last week! It’s been a crazy past couple of weeks because … I’m moving again! So I’ve been trying to get things in order and basically figure out my entire life LOL, so I haven’t had much time to take pictures. However, I’m back on the blog for goooooood now!

First order of business today, I wanted to be sure I pointed out this new top* I’m wearing by Caite! It’s seriously so comfortable and I absolutely love the hand embroidered detail. This piece could be worn as a dress or a tunic, but you guys know me — I love a good tunic! I paired this top with my favorite Levi’s and I was out the door to run some errands.

What I love most about this piece is that not only can I wear it comfortably during the dog days of summer, but I can easily throw on a cardigan or jacket during the fall and winter months. Personally, I think that the majority of pieces in my closet can be worn year-round with the addition or subtraction of another piece of clothing that completes the outfit. I’m so pumped to style this piece with some of the new fall clothes I’m going to be ordering soon!

I’ve been really into elevated styling lately, and by that I mean choosing one final accessory or piece to be added onto an outfit before leaving the house. If it wasn’t so warm outside, I definitely would have thrown my baby blue suede moto jacket over this! Like I’ve said before, more is more — and I love being a little bit extra, like when you ask for extra sprinkles on an ice cream cone. That’s what I aspire to be!

Any who, these past couple weeks have led me to think a lot about my life and where I’m currently at. One of my blogger friends posed a question on her Instagram Stories a couple weeks ago that ultimately led me to think about EVERYTHING. The question was:

How would your five-year-old self feel if they saw where you are currently at in your life?

My first thought was, “Whoa, that’s deep!” But then I really started to think and over-analyze, which I tend to do! I don’t know how my five-year-old self would feel about where I’m at right now, to be completely honest. I think that I’ve definitely pushed myself outside of my comfort zone in a lot of ways, but I wouldn’t say that I could have ever predicted that I would end up where I’m at. Does that make sense!?

Of course the future is unpredictable, but we still have control over the choices we make that lead us to fulfillment.

I’m sure many of us ended up down paths that we never would’ve anticipated for ourselves. But ya know what, if you’re not vibing with where you are or what you’re doing, move on and move forward. I can be rather spontaneous with some choices I make in my life, but that’s because I’ve always been really confident in what I want. When I’m not vibing, I move on.

I used to worry a lot about what people would think in regard to the choices that I make for myself, but honestly, who even cares!!!! It’s okay to be selfish every once in a while, and if you feel stuck or uninspired, it’s time for a change!

Well, that’s all I have for ya today, friends! Stay tuned for more blog posts to come. Thank you all for following along on this adventure with me!

Until next time,

Alicia <3
