Top Picks | July

Hi, everyone! I can’t believe I’m already back on the blog with another new post for this month’s Top Picks! If you’re new to the blog and have never heard of my ‘Top Picks’ posts, I’ll give you the rundown. Each month, I share a collection of products that I’m absolutely loving. All opinions are always my own, so if you have additional questions about the products mentioned, don’t hesitate to comment below!

Let’s get started!

Mizon Skin Recovery Night Repair Seruming Ampoule

I’ve been using this product for a little over a month now and I love it! I decided to add it to my skincare routine as a preventative measure against early signs of aging. This serum is one that I only use at night, right before I apply my favorite facial oil. Since I started using it, I think that my skin looks less tired when I wake up, even when I’m lacking sleep.

Now, if you have no idea what the product is based on its name, I will explain! This product contains so many anti-aging ingredients that work together to help skin regenerate itself, in addition to helping reduce the effects of stress and other factors on the skin. I personally think this product is great for anyone in their 20s-30s who is looking to add a simple anti-aging product into their nightly regimen.

Pacifica Mineral Face Shade

Okay, first I wanted to start off by saying that I know why this product has not-so-great reviews, but I’m here to explain why you should give it a chance! Let’s begin with the difference between mineral and chemical-based sunscreens. Long story short, mineral sunscreens are awesome for sensitive skin because they literally shade your skin from the sun by sitting on top of it. Chemical-based sunscreens do the complete opposite, and some argue that these sunscreens seep into the skin and bloodstream. Eeek!

So, when I put this sunscreen on, yes, there is a white cast across my skin. That’s expected from most mineral sunscreens. However, the white cast goes away after I add my facial oil and hydrating gel cream. I understand why many people gave this product negative reviews, but if you’re looking for a daily sunscreen to wear under your makeup, this one is great. It isn’t heavy at all and my makeup goes on super smooth while using it. It’s totally up to you if you’re willing to give it a chance despite the reviews!

Lapcos Charcoal Pore Care Sheet Mask

I’m definitely on the sheet mask bandwagon as of recently, and I love these ones because they come in a pack of five. I’ve been using one once a week as a way to detox my skin. Charcoal is amazing as a detoxifier, not only for your skin, but your gut as well. That’s a little fun fact for ya! Any who, this sheet mask leaves my skin feeling hydrated, soft and super clean.

Not sure how you all go about wearing your sheet mask, but I literally wear mine until it’s close to dry. I want my skin to absorb all of the essence that the mask was soaking in prior to me removing it from the bag! If you have troublesome skin, this is a sheet mask that I would recommend. It does have a slight fragrance, so if your skin is sensitive to fragrance, I would search for a more gentle exfoliating sheet mask, like this one.

Elisha Coy Skin Refining Snail Essence

So, the company that I used to buy my essence from no longer sells it, which led me on the hunt for a new one that wasn’t stupid expensive. This skin-refining snail essence was $21 at CVS and so far I’m really enjoying it! If you’re wondering if it contains snails, no it does not! Snails are not harmed to make this essence! Basically, snails occasionally release fluid that can be used to treat skin conditions when it’s concentrated.

Snail secretion filtrate is awesome for anti-aging and anyone who suffers from acne. It really helps to brighten the skin over time as well. This is another product / ingredient that’s really popular in Korean skincare.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

This face wash is a classic that cannot be passed up! I used this cleanser for the longest time, but then switched because I wanted to try a fancy one. Well, it’s been a few years but I’m back on the Cetaphil train! I absolutely love this brand because it is made with your skin’s health in mind. This cleanser is perfect for using as my second face wash following my oil-based cleanser. It gets the skin clean without stripping it of hydration. I watched an IGTV with Eva Chen and Joanna Czech, a well-renowned facialist, and she recommended this face wash, so you know it must be amazing!

Well, that’s all I have for this month’s Top Picks! I would love to hear if you try any of the products mentioned above!

Until next time!
