How to Style Bright Colors

Hey, friends! Happy Monday! Sending you all lots of good vibes as we start another work week! Also — Happy Early Fourth of July! I hope that you’ll all be spending the day surrounded by family, friends and great food!

For today’s blog post, I wanted to share how I’m styling this awesome dress that I found at H&M this past weekend. I personally love shopping at H&M. I think that they have a lot of cool pieces at reasonable prices. I don’t go there very often, but when I do, I always manage to find unique items — this dress being one of them.

Shop this dress here.

This dress makes a statement. Bright colors have always been something I’ve incorporated into my wardrobe, but now more than ever! I remember when I was in high school, I used to have a lime green pair of corduroy skinny jeans. The thought of wearing them now makes me laugh, but they were definitely a look, even back then! Needless to say, if I was wearing lime green pants back in high school, I shouldn’t have any fears about wearing bright colors today!

What I love most about shopping at H&M is that they always have a lot of pieces that are perfect for someone my age. Over the past year, I’ve found that some of the stores I shop at most frequently are starting to carry more mature pieces, ones that I personally don’t think are my style. But, H&M has continued to be the store I can rely on for more trendy pieces.

Here’s the thing: I don’t think that age should be a defining factor in what you wear. Honestly, if you’re confident in yourself and your style, then nothing else matters!

I’m very particular with my style, and if something looks too mature, I’m not about it. I guess the best way for me to explain what I’m trying to say is by giving you a visual. I personally would never wear a pencil skirt and button-down shirt combo. It’s not me. Business professional attire is definitely not me!

I’m just saying that I personally could never take myself seriously if I wore it because it’s totally not my style. Does that make sense? I’m rambling … let’s continue!

This dress is my style in a nutshell. Trumpet sleeves? Check. Bright colors? Yes. It’s those little details that stand out as something I should have in my wardrobe. Plus, this dress was only $24.99, like come on! That’s an awesome deal for something that I can continue to wear into the fall.

I decided to throw the denim vest overtop as a way to elevate the look as a whole, but it can obviously be worn without it. I just thought it was an unexpected touch, and let’s be real — you all know I’m obsessed with this denim vest. I don’t even care if it’s not in style. I’m still going to wear it!

If you’re in the market for some new clothes, definitely check out your nearest H&M! I’ll be wearing one of the other items that I found in another blog post next week. I’m horrible at surprises, so I’ll just tell you that it’s a blue suede biker jacket that I got for $30 and I’m honestly not over the excitement from finding it.

I’m hoping that next week won’t be too hot outside so that I can get some cool pictures in it! We shall see, friends!

Well, that’s all for today! I hope that you enjoy the rest of your week! As always, keep spreading good vibes and positivity!

Until next time!

Thanks for sharing, that dress is very cute. What are some other outfits you recommend for summer?

I love anything flowy during this season! Dresses are always my go-to, but I’ve also been loving midi and maxi skirts because they’re so easy to pair with a tank or graphic tee! 😊
