Hello and happy Friday, friends! Just like every Friday that I’m on here to chat with you all, I truly feel like this week went by so quick! For today’s blog post, I wanted to share about my must-have summer bags. Like I’ve said before, I’m a serious bag lady — like I have way more bags then I care to admit! Any who, I went through my collection and picked three that I’m absolutely loving for summer.
During the summer months, I’m all about lighter, more muted leather purses. I’ve never been one for wearing many dark colors in the first place, so it makes sense that most of my summer purses are ones that I wear year-round anyway.
My best piece of advice when shopping for a new purse: keep your eyes open everywhere you go!
Whenever I get a new purse, it’s never because I set out to find a new one, if that makes sense. I always end up buying one when I had no prior plans to do so, but that’s what makes it so fun! You truly never know where your next bag might be found, so open yourself up to inspiration all around you!
Floral Applique Crossbody
I’ve been getting so many questions about this bag and I wish that I could provide a link for it, but unfortunately I bought it from a random market while I was in Florence, Italy. That just goes to reiterate my point that you can find a new purse in the most unexpected of places!
I saw this one on the first day that I got to Florence, but I decided to hold off on buying it because I wanted to see if I found something else. Well, two days later I made my way back to that same vendor and bought the bag for 40 Euro, which at the time converted to about $45 American dollars. Not too bad if you ask me!
This is one of the only purses that’s solely reserved for my summer style. It’s seriously one of my most prized possessions, so the less I wear it out, the better! I want this thing to last for years! I also love the guitar strap detailing of this purse because it’s totally unexpected with the delicate floral applique.
Lucite Handle Crossbody
If you’ve been keeping up with me on Instagram, or you’ve read my recent blog posts, you’ve probably seen this purse. It’s my go-to at the moment! I love that it has a magnetic snap closure because it makes it easy to take out my phone, wallet and keys when I need them quickly.
This bag definitely has a different feel to it then any of my other bags because it’s a man-made material, but I still really like it! This purse has been a lot more durable then I could have expected, especially for how much I’ve used it already.
The stitching is really tight on this bag, which may seem irrelevant to a lot of people, but that’s the kind of stuff that I look at when shopping! You can just tell from looking at it that it’s not the kind of bag that’s going to fall apart from being stuffed with too much.
Marc Jacobs Crossbody
I’ve had this crossbody for about four years now, and as you can tell it doesn’t really look like it has seen four years worth of use! This purse has been with me through snow storms and torrential downpours, so needless to say it’s a pretty great bag!
What I love the most about this purse is the color of the leather. It’s a mix between brown and gray, which I see as being universally acceptable for all seasons! Out of the other two bags mentioned above, I would say that this one probably fits the most. It expands a lot more then it appears!
The key to keeping leather products, like this one, in great shape is to be aware of how you’re caring for them throughout the year. Whenever I’m not using this purse, it’s in the soft cotton drawstring bag that it came in and tucked in a chest where I keep all of my bags.
What is one bag that you’re looking for? I would love to help you find it! Let me know in the comments below! 🙂
I hope you all have an awesome weekend full of sunshine, good vibes, and yummy food! And guess what … next week is a short week because of the Fourth of July! Yippee!
Until next time!
I like the one with the flowers on it.
That first one is very cute; and I love the top you’re wearing!
Thank you so much, Sarah!!! It’s one of my favorites as well! I found it at a market in Florence!
