Happy Friday, friends! It’s time for another round of Top Picks. I can’t believe that I started doing these monthly posts a year ago. Time flies when you’re having fun! Well, I’m going to dive right into the products instead of boring you with any of my weird anecdotes.
Onward!
Facial Pilates Mask – Eco Your Skin
If you’ve followed along on the blog for some time now, you probably know that I’m absolutely obsessed with skincare. I’m always looking for the next ‘it‘ product. I’m also super interested in Korean skincare, which brings me to this mask. Once again, it’s from my favorite website ever, Peach & Lily.
Now, I’m in my early 20s, so technically I don’t need a firming face mask, but you guys, this mask is AMAZING. I know I say that about most of the items in my Top Picks, but seriously, this mask is on an entirely different level. After applying the mask, it will cause your facial muscles to contract as it dries, which tightens and firms the skin. With regular use, it has been shown to keep the skin lookin’ firm and fresh, and I’m all about that.
I wish that you guys could see my face when I put this mask on because it’s pretty funny. It tightens and firms your skin in under ten minutes, but just so you know, you won’t be able to hold a conversation as it hardens. Keep your face still until you wash it off! It’s definitely weird and unexpected the first time that you apply it, but you’ll get used to it! I would recommend this mask if you’re experiencing dull or sagging skin, or if you’re trying to incorporate a preventative skincare product into your routine.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Lucious Full Fan Effect Mascara
In the past, I’ve really struggled to find the right mascara for my lashes, that is until I found this one! I happened to be scrolling through Instagram when I saw an article on Byrdie about the kind of mascara that Meghan Markle uses. Let’s just say, I was done reading that article in about 20 seconds because I was that excited.
I’m one of those people who gets home and immediately tries out the beauty products that I just bought. I’m not patient when it comes to trying out new things that I’m excited about! This is the first mascara that I’ve used in a while that actually makes my lashes look luscious. All I’m saying is that if a Duchess wears this mascara, it must be amazing!
Tarte Maracuja Oil
As you can see, this is a tiny baby sample of Tarte’s Maracuja Oil, but I’ve gotten about three weeks of use out of it so far. I recently became infatuated with facial oils and all of their magical powers, so I was pumped when I got this one for free at Ulta. It’s definitely something that I plan on buying the full size of once I run out.
Now, I’m sure you’re wondering what the heck Maracuja Oil is because I was too. Maracuja Oil is derived from the maracuja fruit, which is really high in Vitamin C. If you don’t know, Vitamin C is AMAZING for acne scarring, skin discoloration, dark spots — any of that! It also firms and softens the skin, so I’ve been using it as an alternative to eye cream. I simply dab it underneath my eyes and around the outer corners of my eyes and wah-la!
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer
I’ve seen this concealer around for ages, but for some reason I never thought to buy it until now. Honestly, I think that concealer is one of those beauty products that you don’t need to spend a ton of money on. There are so many formulas that you can buy at drugstores that are essentially the same thing at higher-end stores. Okay, rant over, but I do really like this concealer.
It’s awesome for covering up dark circles, which is its intended purpose. I use it on blemishes as well, but it often takes 2-3 dabs of product versus one for dark circles, but I’m cool with that. Overall, I think this is a great concealer for the price and it offers a quick and easy fix whenever you’re on-the-go.
Tarte Dream Big Eyeshadow Palette
I just bought this Tarte palette two weeks ago and I love it! The thing about me and eyeshadow palettes is that I can’t justify buying one of the bigger ones. I would maybe use 3 of the 12 shades, so it’s just stupid for me to buy one like that, ya know?! So, when I saw this miniature Tarte palette, I was all about it!
I’m into more earthy, pink tones of eyeshadow, so this was the perfect find. The colors are really pigmented and blendable. I don’t use an eyeshadow primer, but I’m impressed with how well it goes on and stays on throughout the day. I use my finger to apply and then I blend out with an eyeshadow brush. Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase!
Well, that is all for this month’s Top Picks! I hope you all have an awesome weekend! Also — Happy June! How could I have forgotten that it’s the first day of the month!
Until next time,
