How to Style Pinstripe Pants

Helloooo and Happy Friday, friends! I’m back on the blog to share how I’m styling this pair of pinstripe pants that I just purchased last weekend. Quick detour, but I wanted to apologize for not publishing a blog post on Wednesday this week! I had one written and ready to go, but decided last minute that it was more suited for another time of year, so I scratched it! But, I’m really trying to post three times a week for you guys, so I’ll be back in the game next week.

Back on topic — is anyone else obsessed with patterned pants, or is it just me? I know that I talk about patterns pretty frequently on the blog, and today is no exception. I think that people tend to shy away from patterns because they fear their outfit will be too bold. But, I never look at patterns as being a distraction — I see them as a discovery of personal style, which probably makes no sense. Let me explain.

When I look at a pattern, I’m not seeing it as being a pattern — I see it as a versatile piece of clothing that I can easily find something to coordinate with. Now that I think about it, I’m usually always wearing something patterned. If you ever catch me in two or more solid pieces of clothing, it will be as rare as seeing Bigfoot. I’m totally serious.

Anyways, I picked up these pinstripe cargo pants from Anthropologie the other day to compensate for the pants I’ve lost this year. By that, I mean that I’ve ripped three pairs of pants in the past three months, and if that’s not an excuse to treat myself, then I don’t know what is! I’m a hoarder when it comes to clothes, especially pants. Since they tend to be more expensive, I’ll always try to get my money’s worth out of them, which clearly explains why the pants I ripped were over four years old. Oops.

I’ve never owned a pair of pinstripe pants until now, but of all patterns I’ve worn over the years, I find this one to be the most simplistic. To me, pinstripe pants are like a good pair of jeans — you can wear them with anything. I know that pinstripe pants may remind some of you of railroad worker uniforms, but they’ve become a lot more stylish over the years! I promise!

When I say that I’m going to be pairing these pants with just about anything, I mean it!Pinstripes can easily coordinate with a bold floral print top or an embroidered blouse, like this one. Whether you choose to wear a chunky knit sweater for those chilly summer nights, or a graphic tee for a shopping trip, a pair of pinstripe pants will be the perfect mate for any top in your closet.

When I wear these pants, I like to pretend that I’m on a beach in the Mediterranean. It sounds crazy, I know, but these pants are so lightweight and beachy! They’ll definitely play a vital role in my summer wardrobe this year.

Well, that’s all I’ve got for ya today! I would love to hear how you’re styling a pair of pinstripe pants this season. As always, if you have any questions about styling, feel free to comment below and I would be happy to help!

Also, for some reason, these pants are not on Anthropologie’s website, so the name and style number are below!

Until next time!
