My Nightly Skincare Routine

Happy Friday and Happy February!!!

I hope that this week has been full of good vibes for you! Today on the blog I wanted to share my nightly skincare routine with you all! Now, I couldn’t even describe my skin to you in one sentence, so I’m just going to give you a quick rundown of it: acne prone, dry and sensitive.

The base products that I use each night are ones that I’ve been using for over two years, and then the ones that I finish off with are new introductions as of the last few months! I’m all about trying new products, but I also think that giving your skin a couple months to actually get used to the products you’re using is really important. Obviously, if you have a bad reaction to a product, definitely stop using it! But if you haven’t noticed a change within a couple weeks, don’t give up on it yet!

Here is the breakdown of my nightly skincare routine! As always, if you have any additional questions about the products or how I use them, comment below!

Step One: Use a Face Mask After Cleansing

YLLO Turmeric Face Scrub – $15.95

I’ve mentioned this face scrub by YLLO in my Top Picks, but I wanted to include it on here as well because it is a huge component of my skincare routine! I use it three times a week — that’s how much I love it! A little bit of this scrub goes a long way, so a bag usually lasts me around 2-3 months.

After I’ve washed my face, I’ll apply this face scrub as my second to last cleansing step. I pour a little bit into my hand, fill my hand with a little water and then work the scrub onto my face. After gently massaging for 20 seconds or so, I let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing and cleansing one last time to remove any residue from the scrub.

YLLO’s Face Scrub is AMAZING. After I rinse it off, my skin feels refreshed and calmed after having makeup on it all day. The main ingredient, Turmeric, also helps a lot with acne scarring or any redness that you may be experiencing!

Step Two: Prep the Skin for Moisture + Treat Problem Areas

be the skin’s Botanical Nutrition Power Toner – $29

MIZON Water Volume Essence

After cleansing and putting on a face mask, I will pour a quarter-sized amount of Dickinson’s Witch Hazel into the palm of my hand. From there, I will pat it onto my skin until it dries completely. For me, this product has helped lower the oiliness of my skin, as well as reduce any redness that I may be experiencing.

I follow up with be the skin’s Botanical Nutrition Power Toner. This stuff goes such a long way! I only have to buy it two times a year, which is incredible if you ask me! This toner is infused with royal jelly, so it has a much thicker consistency than most toners. It helps to balance your skin’s pH level while also working to improve the skin’s firmness.

Finally, I finish up with an essence, which prepares the skin to absorb the most moisture possible from your face creams and serums. This one is super lightweight and it helps soothe the skin and prep it to lock-in moisture.

Step Three: Apply Anti-Aging Products

RoC Multi-Correxion 5-in-1 Restoring Night Cream – $28

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum – $79 (I only have the trial size at the moment!)

After prepping my skin with the products mentioned in Step Two, I take a quarter-sized amount of this night cream by RoC and massage it into my skin in an upward motion. Since using it, I’ve noticed that I wake up with skin that glows and looks refreshed, which has been hard for me to find in a product up until now!

Once my night cream dries, I will apply this Caudalie serum on my forehead and around my eye area. I only have the trial size of this serum, so I haven’t taken the dive for the full size quite yet. What’s great about this serum is that it is super concentrated, more so than vitamin C oil, so it helps with discoloration and uneven skin tone.

Step Four: Moisturize the Face + Eyes

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion – $27

aromatica Rose Absolute Eye Cream – $29

This moisturizer has been my go-to for the past two years! I previously used another product, but noticed that once winter rolled around, I had dry, flaky skin no matter how much I moisturized. That all changed when I switched to this product from Clinique. I use this moisturizer in the morning and night. It provides the perfect amount of moisture for my skin without making it oily.

My last and final step is applying my eye cream! I just recently started using this one and so far I love the results. It’s important when looking for an eye cream to find one that uses gentle ingredients since you are applying it to the area around your eyes. This one contains rose oil and aloe vera, so it is great for sensitive skin and has helped minimize the appearance of my dark circles.

Well, there you have it! My nightly skincare routine in four simple steps! I hope that by writing about this, you have gained a little insight on different products that are on the market for your skin type!

It’s important to use a product because it works for you, not because someone else is using it. I always read reviews before I buy any skincare products, which I have found to be a super helpful step in deciding if a product is right for me!

I’ll have another post up on the blog this coming Monday, so stay tuned!

Have a fabulous weekend, everyone!

Until next time!
