I hope that you’ve all been staying warm and cozy during these past couple weeks of treacherous weather conditions! I thought it would be especially fitting to do a Fresh Favorites blog post dedicated to the pink faux fur coat that I got for Christmas.
I found this coat at a cute boutique, and it immediately drew me in! Now, I know that the last thing I need is another coat, but I am obsessed with them! Blame it on Ohio weather being freezing cold 3/4 of the year, but seriously, I love coats.
When I saw this one hanging up in the back of Nola True, I was like, “Don’t try it on. You don’t need it.” But then I picked it up from the rack and was like, “YOLO, too late!” The second that I put it on and looked in the mirror, I knew I had to buy it. It may be a little bit ~extra~, but what’s the fun in not being extra every once in a while!?
Once I came back to South Carolina from being at home for the holidays, I was not at all prepared for the cold weather that was to come. But, I sure am glad that I had my pink faux fur coat to keep me warm! It’s definitely a lighter coat than my other faux fur one, but sometimes that’s all I want for a day that I’m just going into work.
What I particularly love about this coat is how the pastel mauve acts as a neutral color, making it easy to pair with just about anything. It’s subtle, but still makes a statement! Not to mention, it’s literally the softest coat I’ve ever owned! For today’s look, I chose to pair it alongside taupe, off-white and blue as a way to draw attention to the coat without the outfit being too busy.
I’m definitely still trying to adjust to moving down South, but I’ve accepted that like anything, it takes time! I may not know what the weather will be like throughout the year, but what I do know is that I’m going to express myself through my personal style no matter what the temperature may be!
There’s something I’ve been thinking about that I wanted to share with all of you! Although wearing a pink faux fur coat may be seen as being a little bit extra, I like being that way! Since moving, I’ve come to realize that my personal style tends to stand out a lot, which I’m totally cool with. But, it just got me thinking that just because other people aren’t dressing like I am, doesn’t mean that I should change my personal style to conform to expectations.
I guess what I’m trying to get at is that you should never feel pressured to change who you are just because other people aren’t doing what you’re doing. Stand out and be a star because you’re awesome and cool! Okay, that’s all for my rant today!
Well, that’s all I’ve got for ya today! I’ll be back on the blog later this week to share a post about some awesome computer glasses that I stumbled upon! More on that soon!
Thank you for all of your support and encouragement! I love this little online platform that I’ve built and I’m so grateful that I can share it with you!
Until next time!
