Fresh Favorites | Bee Blouse

Hello and Happy Monday, friends!

Ah, another fresh work week begins! I can’t believe that this week is the last one of January … where in the world did the time go! But really, I’m so excited for spring to get here and for all of the plants to be in bloom.

Today I am finally sharing an item that I’ve been receiving a lot of questions about over the last month — my bumblebee blouse! This is by far my new favorite top, and for good reason! I’m obsessed with bees, and the fact that I found a shirt to be representative of that is so amazing!

I wanted to first give you all a little background on how I ended up finding this top. For starters, I’m a huge believer in everything happening for a reason, and I think that someone returned this top to Anthropologie so that I could buy it LOL.

Okay, but seriously, I saw this shirt sitting on a rack at Anthropologie, and it was the only one of its kind. So, me being me, I knew that I needed to try it on whether it was my size or not. I saw the bees on it and immediately thought to myself, “I don’t even care if it fits, I gotta have it!”

Long story short, I tried it on and loved it, so I immediately ran up to the cash register to buy it. Well, as I was checking out, this woman comes into the store and was all like, “WHERE IS THE BUMBLEBEE SHIRT?! I know it was here!”

And there’s me, standing up at the register knowing that I was the one that just bought the shirt that this woman was freaking out about! She then asked the cashier what happened to the shirt and she was like, “Uhm, I think that someone just bought it.” But, she didn’t tell her that it was me! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

So anyways, I guess this shirt is a hot commodity or something because every time that I wear it, people are always asking me where it’s from! I didn’t know that so many other people were into wearing bugs on their shirts like I am, but I’m so glad to hear that they are!

Now, I know it’s a shirt with bugs on it and it may seem a little bit weird to wear if you’re not a fan of insects. But hey, I love it! The attention to detail that went into the embroidery of the bees on this blouse is absolutely astounding! They seriously look so lifelike!

Because it’s still a little bit chilly in South Carolina, I haven’t paired this blouse with anything other than my favorite pair of AG Jeans. I’m so excited for spring and summer to finally get here though, so that I can buy some new skirts to pair with it!

Also, this is a totally random fact about the blouse, but I’m sure that someone may be wondering about it. It is actually two separate pieces, so the tank top and the overlay with the bumblebees on it are not sewn together as one.

That’s actually the reason why I bought it. I absolutely hate those shirts that have the tank top sewn in because they are so annoying to wear! But this one is in fact, two separate pieces, so you would never have to worry about that!

Okay, so quick PSA because it’s totally relevant to this blog post!

There are almost 50 species of bumblebees in America alone, but the bee population across the world is shrinking every single day. I know that some of us may be scared of bees, or even allergic to them, but they are so vital to our lives here on earth! Without them, it would be very difficult for farmers to pollinate the crops that turn into the food that we put on our tables everyday.

There are so many things that you can do to help save the bumblebees this spring. Plant a variety of different flowers in a small garden, or buy organically grown crops that can help support local beekeepers! Whatever you choose to do or not do, just remember that bees are our friends, not our enemies!

Well, that’s all that I have for you today! I’ll have another post on the blog this Friday about my nightly skincare routine, so stay tuned for that!

THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT!

I love this little online platform that I’ve built and I’m so grateful that I can share it with you!

Until next time!
