My Version of Athleisure

Hello, friends and Happy Monday!

I’m back on the blog today to share my take on the athleisure trend! If you know me, you know that I rarely ever wear athletic apparel unless I’m doing something sporty. It’s just not me! Everyone has those quirky things about their personal style, and that is definitely mine. But within the past year or so,  I’ve been trying to branch out from the items that I normally wear by incorporating new trend pieces into my wardrobe.

I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a fan of sneakersuntil now! I used to find it really difficult to find sneakers that I could a.) wear to work and b.) easily dress up. Not to mention, I refused to buy trendy sneakers just because everyone else was doing it, so my options were limited!

I am over-the-moon about finding these sneakers at Clarks. It’s seriously my favorite place to find shoes. I’m obsessed with the detailing and champagne pink color of these sneakers. They’re not intended to be athletic sneakers, but they definitely give off an athleisure vibe.

I’ll admit it — styling sneakers is difficult for me, which is why I was initially turned off by the idea of wearing them. I always used to feel like I looked weird when I styled sneakers with jeans, and that’s why I chose these loose pink chinos to wear instead.

This the key to styling an item that you’re not sure will work for your wardrobe. Put on something that makes you feel comfortable first, and then add the new trend item. When you’re happy with what you’re currently wearing, you can make anything work!

Now, me writing this blog post about athleisure isn’t to say that I’m all for the trend. But, I do think that it has opened my eyes to the benefits of experimenting with your wardrobe. I think that we all have a perspective about how certain trends are supposed to be styled, and we sometimes let that dictate how we dress ourselves each day.

Dress for you, not for what the trends are saying!

This is my version of athleisure, and it will be different than yours and the next person’s, but that’s what personal style is about! Is a jean jacket athleisure? No, not necessarily, but who cares! In my eyes, trends aren’t meant to be followed — you should adapt them to work with your personal style! Stay true to yourself and embrace it!

I do want to give a shoutout to Clarks for having amazingly fun and practical shoes! If you’re ever wondering where most of my shoes come from, chances are they are from the Clarks Shoes Outlet. It’s honestly the most magical shoe store. I usually go there every three or four months and only shop in the clearance section.

More often than not, they have sales going on where you can buy one pair and get the second for 20 bucks! So, I literally got these sneakers for such an incredible price. I would definitely suggest them if you’re ever looking for funky shoes that are great quality!

Well, that’s all I’ve got for ya today! I hope you all have an amazing week! I’ll be back on the blog this Friday with another post, so stay tuned!
