Helloooo everyone!
Happy Wednesday!
Today on the blog, I wanted to focus on accessories for autumn, more specifically, purses! I am obsessed with bags — big or small, leather or canvas — I’m all about them! People often call me the ‘bag lady‘ because I literally have a bag for any and every occasion or need.
Anyways, this blog post is centered around four bags that I think are must-haves for the upcoming autumn season. I’ve included a couple different styles, as well as alternative options!
Let’s get shopping!
1.) Slouchy Vegan Tote – Free People – $68
Similar options here and there!
Peep my “Love” pin that I got at a Coldplay concert! Proceeds benefit the Love Button Global Movement. Check it out here!
This is by far my most-used bag that I own! I purchased this before my junior year of college, and it got me through my last two years of school and beyond. Honestly, I think that this was one of my wisest investments, especially in the bag department.
I say this because I’m that person who will literally shove everything that I own into a bag.
I’ve carried textbooks, my laptop, notebooks, and food in this bag — simultaneously, might I add — and the straps are still intact, and so is the rest of the bag!
What’s great about this particular style is that both Free People and Urban Outfitters sell them. From the comparisons that I’ve made, Urban Outfitters’ are slightly different than my Free People one, but it’s the same concept with it being a slouchy tote.
I should also mention that for the price, you’re also getting this medium-sized pouch to use with the bag, as well as another small coin purse that’s attached to the inside of the bag. My favorite thing about this bag has to be the fact that the care for it is minimal. You don’t have to waterproof it, and it wipes clean, even after spilling coffee inside of it multiple times (oops!).
This tote is awesome for work or for college, like I used it for. It’s super versatile and durable — I should know! I’m pulling up on three years of using it!
2.) Mini Crossbody Bag
Similar options here and there!
Believe it or not, I’ve had this bag since I was in the fourth grade … I know, that’s like forever ago. Despite the fact that I have no idea where the woman who gave it to me got it or how much it was, I still think that this style is a great option for autumn.
I personally love mini bags for going out on the town because they don’t feel bulky on my shoulder and they only hold the necessities — phone, lipstick, and money.
I actually lost this bag for the longest time, but then had a sort of déjà vu moment last fall and I decided to see if I could find it. I looked in some old boxes and there it was! I couldn’t believe that I found it! At this point, it could probably be considered vintage 1990s, so I’m just going to roll with that!
3.) Large Pouch/Clutch – Merci – 65 euro
Similar options here and there!
This had to be my favorite thing that I bought for myself while I was in Paris this past March. The floral print immediately caught my eye and I knew that I needed to splurge on it. If you’re ever in Paris, I highly, highly suggest that you make a pit stop at Merci. It’s an awesome concept store that continuously changes their theme of merchandise throughout the entire store. So, when I was there, the theme was “Stop and Smell the Flowers.”
Anyways, I think I sort of fell into loving pouches like this because of how minimalistic they are. After having it for a little under six months, I absolutely love it and it still looks brand new! It honestly makes it easier, too, when you’re just trying to run a few errands and you don’t want to bring your entire purse with you.
4.) Classic Black Crossbody – Kate Spade – $125
Similar options here and there!
I bought this bag a couple years ago, but I still think it will serve a purpose for the point I’m trying to make. If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you know that I really never wear black. I have one shirt that has black stripes, but other than that I tend to shy away from it. But, I still believe that everyone should have a solid black bag option in their closet for when autumn/winter rolls around, despite your viewpoint on the color.
This purse fits just enough without being overly bulky. If you’re in the market for a new black purse for autumn, make sure to waterproof it if it’s genuine leather! It’s better to be safe than sorry — I know from experience! This particular crossbody is a classic style and structure that I usually carry around on the daily in autumn.
Well, that’s all I’ve got for today! I will be back on the blog this Friday for another style post!
Until then, keep smilin’, dance around to some cool jams — like the songs on this playlist— and keep spreadin’ those stylishly good vibes!
