Hello hello!
I hope that you all had a magical weekend! I know I sure did! This past weekend, I was lucky enough to score tickets to a Coldplay concert! Needless to say, I’ve been pumped about going to see them in concert for the past eight years!
Outfit Details:
Top (Anthropologie, it’s new, but not on their website!), Pants (Urban Outfitters), Shoes (Birkenstocks, similar here), Purse (Found in Italy!) and Nail Color (Sally Hansen’s Royal Hue)
I wanted to showcase the outfit that I wore because people often ask me what they should wear to a concert. Honestly, I think that you can wear whatever you’re feeling in the moment. For me, I know that whatever I choose to wear has to be stylish and reflect my personal style, but it also needs to be comfortable for dancing around!
I actually purchased this top the day before I went to the concert, without even thinking that I was going to wear it. I thought that the sleeves were super fun and added a little unexpected jolt to the shirt. Luckily, it wasn’t 90 degrees outside on the night of the concert, so I knew that pants and a top were a-go.
I chose to wear these cargo-style pants from Urban Outfitters because for one, they are literally the most comfortable pair of pants that I own, and two, they played off of the colors in the shirt, which I liked. For anyone looking for a pair like this from Urban, I would advise you to buy a size up. Although they’re stretchy, they were super uncomfortable on me when I tried on the size that I normally wear.
My Birkenstocks were my shoe of choice for this evening purely because I wanted something comfortable to jump around in. To be honest, I’ll probably get married in Birkenstocks, that’s how much I love them. I remember when I was younger and I used to hate the way they looked. But, once I got to college, I realized that they are one of the most universally comfortable shoes out there.
This purse is one of my new favorites in my closet because I actually bought it at a market when I was in Florence! I love the 3-D floral detailing on the front flap — I’ve never seen anything like it in the States, which is why I bought it. The awesome thing about it is that you can interchange the strap with any others that you may have on hand.
I took this gray strap off of one of my Michael Kors satchels and was ready to go! If you’re in the market for a new bag strap, definitely check out Etsy or Nordstrom.
Kind of going off topic here, but I wanted to talk about why this concert was such a milestone for me. The last time that Coldplay came to my hometown was 8 years ago. For perspective, that was right when their album, “Viva la Vida” came out. In that time, they’ve released 3 more albums, their latest being “A Head Full of Dreams.”
I’ve been a huge Coldplay fan since I was a kid and I remember when we used to listen to “Clocks” or “The Scientist” in the car going to school. Needless to say, Coldplay has been with me through all of the ups and downs — with a song to go along with exactly how I’m feeling every step of the way!
Getting to see them in concert was seriously a dream come true for me, which was why I chose to go alone. I wanted to experience this momentus occasion by myself! I have no shame in the fact that when they opened the show with the song, “A Head Full of Dreams,” I started crying. Tears for the fact that I couldn’t believe I was there seeing them live after so many years of waiting!
I hope that all of you are gifted with the kind of magical experience that I had at my first Coldplay concert. Whether it’s going to a concert for your favorite artist, seeing a movie you’ve waited forever to watch, or even just cracking open a new bestseller — take that moment and cherish it forever! Also, don’t be scared to do things by yourself every once in awhile. Going to this concert alone was tons of fun!
Well, that’s all I’ve got for ya today! I hope that you enjoyed hearing me ramble about style and music! I’ve made a playlist full of my favorite Coldplay songs to coordinate with this blog post. Enjoy!
