I hope that you’re all starting your day full of good vibes and positive energy!
I’m back on the blog today with a brand new style post for ya. What inspired this blog post was the fact that I realized I’d grown out of some items in my closet.
Believe it or not, this white eyelet top is actually a dress. I bought it probably five years ago from Urban Outfitters, so I guess it makes logical sense that it is waaaaaay too short on me today.
I can definitely say that I have a sentimental attachment to most of the items in my closet. So, when something doesn’t fit the way that it used to, I go back and forth about what I’m going to do about it.
In this particular case, the dress used to be my absolute favorite, and the idea of getting rid of it made be sad! So, because it was merely the length of the dress that was the problem, I thought what better thing to do than just wear it over a pair of jeans?
And wah-la! You’ve got a brand new piece in your closet. I work hard for the clothes that I have, so I make it my mission to make them last for as long as I possibly can. I guess that’s why I was so adamant about not getting rid of this dress!
Onto my jeans — I’m new to the Levi’s fan club, but let me say that I am so happy I’m on board! The biggest tip that I can offer for buying Levi’s is to buy a size up from what you normally wear. Their denim is definitely a little bit stiff, with less elastic than I was used to. But by buying a size larger, I can comfortably move around without feeling like I’m being squished.
I especially love the frayed edge and the fact that they’re a cropped style. Being tall gives me a lot of issues when it comes to finding jeans that are actually long enough for my legs. There are only a few brands and stores that I can even go into that sell pants that are long enough. I wish that every jean company made ‘long‘ versions of their jeans, but hey — maybe one day!
My shoes are Jeffrey Campbell (p.s. they are having 50% off all shoes on their website right now!!!) and I’ve been waiting for a while to jump on that bandwagon. I’ve never really shopped at stores that sell the brand on the sales floor, so I decided to hold off on buying any until I could try them on in-person.
Believe it or not, I found these at Nordstrom Rack for $22.50, originally $150!! How awesome! Honestly, if you’re looking for comfortable shoes that are worth an investment, I would look at either Nordstrom Rack or Clarks Outlet. Both have quality shoes that will last you more than one season!
Although these particular shoes aren’t available on Nordstrom Rack’s website, I’ve attached another style that I also tried on and thought were super comfortable!
This clutch is one of my favorites in my entire collection of purses! I found this for $10 at the Urban Outfitters in SOHO and I’m so glad that I bought it! If you’re looking for something of a similar style, I’ve attached one that I think is adorable here!
I always feel bad when I blog about products I know aren’t available anymore, but I hope that by showcasing certain items, I can inspire you to shop without a set plan!
I personally don’t like shopping with a specific item in mind — I’m much more of a go-with-the-flow kind of shopper. With that attitude in mind, that’s exactly how I came across this clutch and these jeans. I wasn’t expecting to find them, nor had I expected to buy them, but I did!
Well, that’s all I’ve got for ya this week! I’ll be back on Monday with another new blog post for you all!
Until then, keep smilin’, dance around to some cool jams and keep spreadin’ those stylishly good vibes!
