Today on the blog, I’m trying something different once again — I’m making a conscious effort to follow a trend! If you haven’t been keeping up with the new merchandise that has been slowly morphing onto the racks of our favorite stores, then you wouldn’t know that the ~long over slim~ trend is an item for fall.
The name explains it all: Longer tops, like dresses or tunics for example, are being seen over skinny jeans. Now, I’m well aware that skinny jeans were pushed to the wayside over the past year to make room for more trendy cropped and flare jeans. I’m not opposed to either of those styles, but skinny jeans are just my thing, and I’m so glad that they’re sort-of-an-item for the moment!
When I saw this kimono wrap dress in person, I got so excited because I’d been looking at it on Anthropologie’s website since it released. I was completely sold by the idea that it could be worn over jeans or as a dress, if you put a slip on underneath.
When I tried it on, I was a little iffy about it at first just because I wasn’t trying it on as a complete outfit, rather just as a wrap dress. But hey, I bought it anyway!
Later that day, I tried it on again with jeans and fell in love with it! I’m 100% on board with this trend for fall because it incorporates two of my favorite trend pieces: longer tops and skinny jeans. On a side note, my favorite part about this wrap dress is that it’s adjustable, so you can wear it as a wrap dress or as an open kimono.
I want to take a second to focus on my sunglasses since I’ve had so many people ask me about them. I bought these Ray-Bans for myself as a sort of Treat Yo Self kind-of-gift. I went straight to Sunglass Hat for them because I knew that they would have polarized options, which was what I was looking for.
If you’re debating on buying a pair of designer sunglasses, buying polarized is something that I highly, highly recommend! I have super sensitive eyes, so I’ve always tried my best to take the best care of them, which is where polarization comes into play.
Polarized means that the sunglasses have a coating on the lenses that prevents powerful glares from damaging your eyes. Despite the fact that polarized sunglasses tend to be a little bit more expensive, it’s worth it in the long run!
Well, that’s all for this week! I’ll have lots of exciting posts coming soon, so stay tuned! Keep smilin’, dance around to some cool jams — check out the playlist at the top of this post — and keep spreadin’ those stylishly good vibes!
Thanks a bunch for reading!
