Top Picks | July

Hello again and Happy Sunday, everyone!

Today on the blog, I wanted to share my Top Picks for July. This month, I’m focusing on my favorite skincare items of the moment.

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I’ve always struggled with troublesome skin, so when I find a product that actually works for me, I stick with it. Obviously the products featured below are 100% suggestions, so feel free to give them a try or not!

Taking care of your skin is all about trial and error — finding products that work for your unique skin type. For me, I’m one of the millions of women who suffer from combination skin — oily and dry.

Fighting two evils with one product can be really difficult, which is why I’ve made a routine of using the products listed below, as well as a few others that I’ll feature in the upcoming months!

1. Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner | $3.99

This stuff is seriously incredible! I’d always read that witch hazel was awesome for skin, especially acne-prone skin, but I’d never thought to try it until this past May. For one, it’s literally $3.99, so by far one of the cheapest skincare products that I’ve ever bought. Anyone on a college-kid budget knows exactly how hard it is to find the right skincare products within your budget. When I found this and saw how much it was, I was absolutely shocked!

Anyways, witch hazel is a natural astringent, so it helps to clear any bacteria, dirt and other grossness that’s on or under the skin’s surface. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel is also 100% natural, so you actually know what you’re putting on your face.

I pour a quarter-sized amount of the witch hazel into my hand and pat it onto my face, morning and night. After getting into a routine of using Dickinson’s twice a day, I’ve noticed less breakouts and a glowing complexion. There are days that I don’t even wear makeup — and anyone who knows me knows that that’s a rare occurrence. But seriously, this stuff works, and I would never play about that!

2. SRB Enzyme Powder Wash | $25

This is what the rice bran powder looks like!

This is definitely one of my most obscure skincare products, but I absolutely love it! I stumbled upon it after I fell in love with the Korean Beauty website Peach & Lily. I have so many of their products and have loved every single one, so when I saw this one, I thought that I would give it a go.

Essentially, this is a rice-based powder. The rice bran works as a natural exfoliator for the skin and it honestly leaves the skin baby soft! I use this only in the morning, and all you need is a dime-sized amount.

I pour that amount into my hand, and use my other hand to drip some water onto the rice bran, and then I scrub it all over my face! It helps a lot with any dry, flaky skin that can show up on the face as well.

3. L’Oreal Revitalift Bright Reveal Dual Overnight Moisturizer |$19.99

This is another product that I just started using at the beginning of the summer after I found a sample in my Elle magazine. This moisturizer contains two amazing anti-aging ingredients: Glycolic Acid for exfoliating and Vitamin C for brightening.

The blend of these two ingredients, along with Pro-Retinol makes for the ultimate anti-aging moisturizer for anyone in their 20s! I’ve been all about finding a moisturizer such as this for a while now, but I hadn’t found one that didn’t make my skin feel really heavy and oily — until this one.

After washing my face at night and applying my witch hazel, I use one pump of this moisturizer. Since I started using this, I’ve noticed a serious reduction in acne scarring. Not to mention, I am actually shocked at how smooth this moisturizer has made my complexion. It’s seriously amazing!

4. REVIVAL GODDESS CLAY-MASK DETOX | $18.95

I’ve tried quite a few face masks in the past year, and I have to say that this is one of my favorites! It’s a Cleveland-based company, which I love, and the mask is made of 100% vegan ingredients.

The purpose of this mask is to detox the skin, being as it contains activated charcoal, which is known for detoxification of the skin and digestive system. I tend to use this mask twice a week, especially on days when I know that I’ve sweat a lot or worn my makeup for too long.

One of the things that I love about this mask is that you don’t have to leave it on forever. It probably takes about 10 minutes max to dry on my face and then I rinse with warm water. I can be a tad impatient when it comes to leaving masks on for the right amount of time, so this one is great for anyone on a time crunch!

My skin always feels super clean and my pores don’t feel anywhere near as congested once I rinse it off. I highly suggest this mask as a weekly detox within your skincare regimen!

5.) JĀSÖN Smoothing Coconut Oil | $9.99

Let me just come out and say that I absolutely love this product! First of all, it’s organic, which I am all about. Second, this coconut oil can be used on so many different things. I usually do a coconut oil mask on my hair once a week. I take this coconut oil and moisturize it onto the ends of my hair, up to the middle of the strand. Definitely don’t put this stuff near your roots or else you’ll have to shampoo at least twice to rinse it!

If you suffer from dry, flaky skin, coconut oil is seriously the answer for you! I put this on any dry spots that I have and they’re gone the next day. I think it’s just one of those skincare items that everyone should have in their beauty cabinet because it will be useful one day!

That’s all I’ve got for ya this week! I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend! I’ll be back this week with more posts for ya!

Keep spreadin’ stylishly good vibes!
