Summer is in full swing here in the Midwest, and on this particular day that these photos were taken, it was about 92 degrees. Why in the world would I be wearing jeans? Well, just look at them! I couldn’t help but wear them, despite the heat!

I have the hardest time finding jeans, and I am probably one of the pickiest people when it comes to what pairs I actually wear. Everyone has those brands that they ultimately trust more, when it comes to fit, than others. There are some stores that I won’t even step into because I know that their jeans won’t fit the way that I like them to.

When it comes to shopping for denim, you’ve got to set aside some time to try on different styles and fits to get a better understanding of what works for you and what doesn’t. For example, boyfriend jeans that are low-riding on the waist just do not work on me at all. I found that out after trying on a bunch of boyfriend-style jeans and literally laughing in the fitting room about how low they fit me.

The awesome thing about the fit of this particular pair of jeans is that they are a mid-rise boyfriend jean. PRAISE the jean gods for making boyfriend jeans that are mid-rise for those of us who can’t wear boyfriend jeans, aka me.

Lengthwise, I usually struggle with jeans being long enough because of my height, but what I love about these Pilcro jeans is that they are cropped at the ankle. Now I never have to worry about them shrinking in the dryer because they’re meant to be that short! YAY!

Aside from style, I wanted to give a little insight into the day that these pictures were taken! An awesome blogger friend of mine named Kaitlin (her blog is Delightful-Days — so amazing!), wanted to try a Vegan/Vegetarian restaurant in our area that neither of us had ever been to.

I’m not a vegetarian, purely because I love chicken fingers too much, but I pushed myself outside of my comfort zone and ate some really great vegetarian food! I had this awesome wrap that had all these goodies in it — sweet potatoes, roasted red peppers, cilantro, spinach and chipotle aioli. SERIOUSLY SO YUMMY!

I guess what I’m trying to get at is that you should challenge yourself to do things outside of your comfort zone this summer! Trying new things only makes you grow as a person, and you’ll also learn new things about yourself along the way!

That’s all I’ve got for ya today! Tune into the blog this coming Sunday, when I’ll be sharing my top picks for skincare!

Thanks a bunch for reading!

Keep spreadin’ stylishly good vibes!
