Top Picks | June

Welcome back to Stylishly Good Vibes!

I decided to try something a little bit different this week by posting product reviews for my top picks of the month. I’m obsessed with trying new beauty products and treatments, and without that desire for experimentation, I probably wouldn’t have found the products featured in this post.

If anything, I hope that by featuring my top picks each month, you gain a better understanding of products that you may want to experiment with in your own skincare or beauty routine.

Onward, folks!

Urban Decay Naked FLUSHED in ‘Going Native

I actually went to buy an entirely different bronzer palette, but came across this one and was immediately sold. See, sometimes when a product you want to try is out of stock, it’s a sign that you should buy something else. Or so I like to think. This product was also  budget friendly in comparison to the palette I had intended on buying in the first place, so it really was a win-win!

Anyways, when I went searching for a bronzer/highlighter palette that would work for me, I directed my attention toward brands that I was most familiar with. Now, this isn’t to say that other brands don’t have great options! I personally have really sensitive and reactive skin, so when I find a brand that doesn’t cause irritation, I stick with it for the long haul!

Glamorous Side Note: I dropped this palette on the ground and it still stayed intact, minus the part that chipped at the bottom LOL.

The awesome thing about this palette is that it comes in six different palette shades, so you can easily find one that works best for you. After applying a base of foundation and a setting powder using a fluffy brush, like Real Techniques Powder Brush, I tap into this palette using a blush brush.

I brush the bronzer onto the hollows of my cheekbones, along the side of my brow bone, on my forehead, nose, chin and the far corners of my cheeks — near my earlobes. I then take that same brush and dab the blush onto the apples of my cheeks. Finally, I take an eyeshadow brush and place the highlighter above the apples of my cheeks, on the sides of my nose, in the corner of my eyes and right above my eyebrow arch. Voilà!

Glam & Grace Shimmer Shadow in ‘Hint of Pink

I’m all for a great eyeshadow color that can easily transition from day to night. Now, I’ve never been the kind of person who’s big into eyeshadow palettes. I found that when I did spend the money on them, there were so many shades that I was going without using, so I switched to using single eyeshadow palettes instead!

I came across this particular product while on a weekend shopping excursion at the Cleveland Flea. The company had a tent set up that featured all of their eyeshadow palettes on display so that you could see and test them on your skin.

Clearly, I’ve been getting great use out of this product!

I was immediately hooked because of how pigmented the eyeshadows were and how long they lasted on my skin throughout the day. I decided to go for the Hint of Pink shade because I felt that it was a fresh shade for summer. I’ve also come to realize that as I’ve gotten older, I shy away from those darker shades and opt for more iridescent or neutral-based sparkle shades.

Glam & Grace also sells tons of other products, like highlighters, lipstick and makeup brushes. Not to mention, all beauty products are handmade and made fresh, with no parabens or preservatives. How awesome is that?!

YLLO Turmeric Scrub

All I can say about this product is YAAAAAAAS! A little bit dramatic, but that’s how obsessed I am with this face scrub. I try to use natural beauty products as often as I can, so when I found this scrub, I was so pumped because of all the beneficial, naturally-sourced ingredients in it.

Turmeric is a familiar spice within cooking, but this particular spice is also super beneficial to overall skin quality. As I mentioned earlier in this post, my skin is a little bit troublesome at times. For me, Turmeric helps ease the redness I experience with breakouts, but it also makes the overall tone and texture of my skin feel and look much smoother.

This is what the scrub looks like when you pour it out of the package. I use the back of a spoon to mash up the scrub after mixing with liquid.

Now, this product is essentially a scrub and a mask in one, which makes me love it even more because it saves me a step in my nightly-skincare routine. I use this mask every other day, but it’s definitely up to your own discretion based on the sensitivity of your skin and skincare habits.

A little bit goes a long way, too, which is why I always pour about half a tablespoon into a small bowl first. Then, I add just a swig of apple cider vinegar and a little bit of water. From there, you’ll put the scrub on your face, rub it around, and then let it sit for 15 minutes or so.

Your skin will probably have a yellowish tint from the Turmeric when you wash it off, so always follow up with a water-based cleanser to get the skin squeaky clean.

I hope that you enjoyed reading this month’s top picks rundown! I’m really excited to continue these posts in the coming months!

Have a great rest of the week everyone! 🙂
