Hello hello my fellow Good Vibers!
Guess who’s back, back again! It’s me, of course, back to inspire you to embrace your personal style!
Today’s post is all about the off the shoulder blouse. I don’t know about you, but I am absolutely obsessed with this style. First it was the cold shoulder top, and now we’ve taken that trend a step further with the off the shoulder.
With summer still in full swing and showing no signs of cooling down, it’s all about figuring out how to keep your personal style intact while also making sure that you’re not overheating.
If I’m being completely honest, summer is probably my least favorite season to dress for. I love layering and being able to combine different fabrics and textures, and in the summer you just can’t do that. But, what summer does allow me to do is wear a boatload of excessively bright colors all day, everyday.
My closet is generally an avalanche of color throughout the year because, what better way to express your personal style than by doing it through wearing bold colors? That being said, this off the shoulder top is all of my favorite things in one blouse.
Off the shoulder? Check.
Bright colors? Check.

Now, I’m sure some of you are thinking, “What’s so great about this shirt?” Well, I’m going to tell you! I’ve come across a lot of off the shoulder tops this summer and until I found this one, I wasn’t really sold on the idea of it. Most that I had tried on were either too crop-toppy for my style, they didn’t fit my shoulders, or they were just an awful pattern.
The great thing about this off the shoulder top is that length-wise, it hits in just the right spot, right below the hips. In regards to comfort, the off the shoulder portion of this shirt has elastic, which makes finding the perfect fit so simple. Finally, the pattern. Just look at the pattern. I don’t think I need to explain that. The moss green shade of this shirt plays well with the pops of magenta, yellow and blue throughout the design of the blouse, making it absolutely eye-catching.
Patterns can sometimes be a really difficult style to bring into your closet, and more often than not, people shy away from incorporating bold patterns into their wardrobe.
Trust me, I’ve been there.
But, patterns are so fun and summer is honestly the best time of the year to experiment with the flashiest, brightest and weirdest patterns that you can find!
Onto accessories…
This beaded choker is super subtle and sophisticated. The adjustable clasp also allows it to go from choker to a normal-length necklace. I opted for a choker and pendant to go along with this top because I wanted to make a statement while still letting the top speak for itself. I found this pendant for $10 at a sidewalk sale, and for a piece of quartz, that’s an amazing deal.
My best piece of advice if you’re looking to add more jewelry to your collection?
Don’t start your search in conventional places.
I know what you’re thinking.
“She’s sending me on a wild goose chase to find new jewelry.”
Yes, and no! Finding the best pieces is all about looking where you’d least expect to find things. Check out quirky little shops in your hometown, or an estate sale, or your grandmother’s jewelry collection. Flea Markets are one of my favorite places to buy new jewelry made my local vendors. So maybe it is a wild goose chase, but it will be worth it!
Shoe and Purse Spotlight!
When it came to finding a pair of shoes to wear with this off the shoulder top, I wanted to keep it relatively understated. This open-toed pair of Vince Camuto wedges pairs well with a dark skinny jean. They’re also super comfortable for all-day wear.
The pink purse that I chose for this outfit is one of my absolute favorites. This bag is the ideal travel companion because it has so many interior pockets, and the leather finish keeps it looking brand new. This purse has been in my wardrobe for nearly six years and it doesn’t have a single scratch or imperfection. Just goes to show that buying quality items will make the world of a difference because they will be staples in your closet for all of eternity. Well, maybe not that long, but you get the idea.
Moving on….
I wear jeans year-round. 365 days a year. Let me rephrase that. About 75% of the time I am wearing jeans, which means that finding the right pair is of the upmost importance to me. I won’t go into too much detail with this. You can read more about finding your best denim fit in my Denim Style Guide.
Finding the right jean for you is all about trying on a million pairs and figuring out the fit, style and wash that most suits you. This will make it so much easier when you look for jeans in the future.
For me, I love a good mid rise skinny jean in a darker wash. Urban Outfitters never goes wrong with their BDG denim line. They’re stretchy, comfortable, and they hold their color for multiple washes, so keep that in mind when you’re on the hunt for a new pair of jeans! Not to mention, Urban Outfitter’s BDG denim is $20 off right now!
Well, that’s all I’ve got for ya, folks. Keep rocking your personal style and sending good vibes!
